CORVALLIS, Ore. - The public is invited to attend the grand opening for the Oregon State Basketball Center, which will take place at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11 with a program and ribbon cutting for the state-of-the-art practice facility. Tours of the venue will be available after the conclusion of the program.
The event is free but people are encouraged to RSVP at the following link by Tuesday, June 4. For questions, call the Our Beaver Nation office at 541-737-2370.
Oregon State Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis, men's basketball head coach Craig Robinson, women's basketball head coach Scott Rueck and Beaver legend A.C. Green are scheduled to participate in the grand opening celebration.
"My excitement about our new basketball practice facility is overflowing," Robinson said. "I can't wait to move and get our student-athletes access to their new home. This facility will not only ease our logistical burdens but will serve as a showpiece for our program."
"The new facility is a game-changer for us," Rueck said. "It will allow us to operate and meet the needs of our student-athletes in ways we never have and will be a vital tool in allowing them to become the best basketball player they can be."
The OSU Basketball Center is a 34,500-square-foot, four-story, $15 million structure that features two regulation basketball courts on the first and third floors along with locker rooms, satellite training and medical areas, and service and mechanical space. The second and fourth floors include coach and program staff offices that offer panoramic views of the basketball courts.
The facility is located directly behind Gill Coliseum and just north of the Sports Performance Center off Ralph Miller Drive. The main entrance features an Oregon State Basketball Hall of Fame highlighting the great teams, coaches and players from the Beavers' men's and women's basketball programs.
