Everyday Champion: Matt Boyd
May 15, 2013
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Matt Boyd has not only been stellar on the mound for the Oregon State baseball team during his tenure with the club, but the senior has excelled off of it.
A communications major, he aspires to enter the broadcasting business once his playing career is over. Listening to greats like Vin Scully has inspired his career choice.
Boyd, however, isn't all about baseball. Understanding the role sports can play, he's been very active in the community dating back to his Eastside Catholic High School days. He's been to Latin America on a mission trip, and during his career at Oregon State, has been active in Corvallis, working camps and other community events. Boyd has also been an active member of the Student Advisory Athletic Committee (SAAC).
For that, Boyd is an Everyday Champion.
Oregon State next visits Oregon in the Civil War, presented by Pacific Source, Your Local Ford Stores, Wells Fargo and McDonald's. The first game of the series is Friday night at 6 p.m. PT. The game can be followed via live video, audio and stats, with all the links available on osubeavers.com.
