May 15, 2013
CORVALLIS, Ore. - A season that began in Tanagura, Japan will now include a stop in Tallahassee, Fla., when the Oregon State men's golf team competes at one of six NCAA Regional sites this Thursday through Saturday, looking to fulfill a year-long goal of advancing to the NCAA Championships.
The top five teams at the Tallahassee Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Ga. from May 28 to June 2, where they will join 25 other squads looking for the prestigious NCAA Championship trophy and banner that is awarded to the nation's top team.

COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,965-yard Golden Eagle Golf and Country Club.
Built from the beautiful terrain of Kinhega Plantation in 1986, world-renowned course architect Tom Fazio took full advantage of the natural topography of fabulous acreage surrounding Golden Eagle Country Club.
Golden Eagle's foremost attraction is its 18-hole golf course. It was rated "the most challenging course in Florida" by the United States Golf Association just six months after opening. In addition, Golfweek Magazine ranked Golden Eagle among the top 50 real-estate development courses in the Southeast, citing its distinctive design and enhancement of the property's natural beauty as "a cut above the rest."
This championship golf course features wide fairways and strategically placed Scottish bunkers. Mr. Fazio created a course that is challenging yet playable for both the serious and recreational golfer alike. Tree-lined fairways, elevations changes and additional water features not only add to the course's natural beauty but test the player's ability to visualize and execute the proper shot.
FORMAT: Three-day, 54-hole tournament with 18 holes each day. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

Q&A with Oregon State head coach Jon Reehoorn
How do you feel about the team heading to regionals?
"This is the opportunity these guys have been working for all year. They learned a lot at Los Angeles Country Club during the Pac-12 Championships, and I think they will be ready to compete for a spot in the National Championship."
How important is it to have a veteran lineup competing at regionals?
"This event is different than anything we see all year. It is very businesslike and each team is here with the exact same goal in mind, to finish in the top 5. Having four of our five guys here knowing that coming in is definitely a positive. They also each remember how it felt to finish just a few shots short last year and will be motivated to make sure they make each shot count."
What are your thoughts on the season up to this point?
"Individually we have done a lot of great things. As a team I'm not sure we have reached our potential, but the good news is we still have one and hopefully two events left to do it."
What does the team need to do to finish in the top 5 and advance to nationals?
"Each individual needs to take it upon themselves to be their own best self. We cannot be worried about what everyone else is doing or even how their own teammates are doing. Each guy has to give it everything they have for 54 holes."
