Last Game
Matt Boyd, who earned his 10th win of the season. Boyd allowed eight hits and three runs in 6 1/3 innings.
Going For No. 40
Oregon State is looking for its 40th win of the season Friday, and in doing so, would become the second program in school history to reach that milestone during the regular season. The 2005 Beavers advanced to an NCAA Regional with a 41-9 record.
Also Going For 19
The Beavers are also going for win No. 19 in Pac-12 Conference play. A 19th victory would tie the 2005 team for the most league wins. The 2005 team went 19-5 en route to a Pacific-10 Conference championship.
No Free Passes This Way
The Oregon State pitching staff has been stingy as of late, issuing just 11 walks over the last eight games. During that same stretch, the staff has struck out 63. Matt Boyd has 27 of those 63 strikeouts and just two walks.
Against Probable First Rounders
The Beavers have faced three potential first-round selections in June's MLB Draft. The Beavers have defeated all three, downing Gonzaga's Marco Gonzales, Arizona State's Trevor Williams and Stanford's Mark Appel. The Beavers have 14 earned runs in 16 innings against the trio, forcing them into a combined ERA of 7.88.
Batting Around
Oregon State's five-run fifth inning Friday saw the Beavers send nine or more to the plate for the 12th time this season. Of those 12, four have come during Pac-12 play.
Singles
With Friday's win, the Beavers improved to 8-3 against top 25 clubs. Most impressively, six of the eight top 25 wins have come away from Goss Stadium.
Matt Boyd extended the team's streak to 16 consecutive quality starts in Pac-12 play. Boyd has one in all eight starts against league foes.
Saturday's probable starter, Andrew Moore, is 3-0 with a 1.16 ERA in five road appearances this season.
OSU is 32-3 when collecting more hits.
