Ryan Barnes and Tyler Smith also drove in runs for the Beavers who finished with five hits on the day.
Big Crowds
Oregon State drew 3,103 fans to Saturday's game, which is tied for the seventh-largest crowd at Goss Stadium since the stadium expansion in 1999. It's the third-largest regular season crowd. In the two games against the Trojans, OSU has drawn 6,037 fans to the park. The Beavers are averaing 2,295 fans per game, which would be the best average since 1999.
Going For The Sweep
Oregon State is going for a sweep of the Trojans on Sunday and should that happen, would be the Beavers first ever three-game sweep of USC. OSU has swept USC before, but in a two game series in 1952. The Beavers were last in a position to sweep the Trojans in 2005 but lost 12-2 in the finale.
Smith's Streak
Senior Tyler Smith carries a four-game hit streak into Sunday's finale. He is 9-for-21 (.428) with two runs batted in and a double during the streak.
Lowering That ERA
Tony Bryant combined to throw the Beavers' eighth shutout of the season on Saturday, which is tops in the Pac-12 and tied for second nationally. The eight shutouts are the most since 2006; no OSU team has had more than eight since 1967. The Beavers' team ERA dropped to 2.04 from 2.09 with the shutout.
Scary Trio
Oregon State owns the Pac-12's only weekend trio with ERAs all under 2.00. Matt Boyd is at 1.96, with Andrew Moore and Ben Wetzler both at 1.54. Wetzler is Sunday's probable starter. He has allowed just two earned runs in his last 22 1/3 innings in Pac-12 play. That's an ERA of 0.81.
Singles
Five of the Beavers' eight shutouts this season have come during Pac-12 play.
OSU is 9-0 in Sunday games, including 4-0 at home.
