Volleyball Adds Three For 2013 Season

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State volleyball head coach Rachel Buehner, from Bend, Ore., and Sydney Francis, from San Diego, will join the team next season.
"We are excited to get these three young ladies on board," Liskevych said. "Amy is a six-position player. She can play front court and back court and is a great addition to our team. Rachel, although recovering from an injury right now, will add great depth to our defensive specialist position next year. Sydney is a very skilled passer, defender and server and has played at the highest levels of club volleyball in Southern California."
Sorenson will join the program as a junior after being named a junior college second-team All-American in 2012. A native of Sandy, Utah, she finished the 2012 season with 278 kills and 39 blocks to go along with 222 digs.
Buehner, meanwhile, is already practicing with the Beavers during their spring schedule. She comes to Corvallis from Bend's Mountain View High School, where she lettered four years, including three as a libero. She was first team all-conference as a junior and second-team all-state. She was also an all-conference player as a sophomore where she was a all-state honorable mention selection.
Francis, meanwhile, is a defensive specialist who will join the program in the fall. A defensive specialist, she has lettered at La Costa Canyon High School and served as the team's captain as both a sophomore and senior. She was a San Diego Union Tribune Scholar Athlete her junior and senior years while leading her team to the CIF State finals both seasons.
