April 16, 2013
PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon State rising junior defender Will Seymore will return for a second season to the Portland Timbers U-23s team for the upcoming Premier Development League season.
Seymore has started all 34 games he has appeared in at Oregon State with 17 of those coming in 2012 as a sophomore. He helped the Beavers’ defense to a 1.15 goals against average last season while scoring a pair of goals on penalty kicks. Seymore was named a Pac-12 Honorable Mention.
“It’s a pretty big opportunity. I’m thankful to have the chance to build on the success we had last year,” Seymore said. “I appreciate coach [Jim] Rilett bringing me back.”
Seymore appeared in 12 games for the Timbers U-23s last season.
The Beavers continue their spring schedule Saturday at home against Concordia (Ore.) at 11:00 a.m. and host the Timbers U-23s on April 27.
