PERSONAL—Born 5/5/85 at Palo Alto, CA....son of Nicholas and Janet Ghilarducci...he has two brothers, Conor, 20, and Stephen, 14...undecided on major...enjoys football, video games and sand volleyball...his top prep athletic thrill was recording 15 solo tackles, intercepting two passes, scoring two touchdowns and a blocked punt against cross town rivals...selected OSU because, “it is a solid program with excellent players.”
OSU—(2003—Freshman)—Phil will report to Oregon State in August for the start of fall camp and compete as a wide receiver.
HENRY M. GUNN HIGH SCHOOL, Palo Alto, CA—Phil was a three-year starter at wide receiver and free safety for Henry Gunn High School...earned three letters in track and field as a high jumper and long jumper...produced marks of 21-3 in the long jump, 6-2 in high jump, 43-0 in triple jump and was timed at 15.1 in 110 meter high hurdles...timed at 4.45 in the 40...won several honors as a senior...selected first-team All-Central Coast Section of CIF; Most Outstanding receiver in the DeAnza League; second-team Cal Prep and first-team San Jose Mercury News, all as a wide receiver...selected second-team as a safety by the San Francisco Chronicle...selected to the Palo Club’s All-Mid Peninsula Team as a wide receiver...Phil played virtually every down for Henry Gunn High School as a senior...he was a starting wide receiver and free safety, plus he was the team’s punter...the only time he came out of the lineup was on kickoff returns and covering kickoffs...caught 47 passes for 1,034 yards, an average of 22.0 yards per catch, and 16 touchdowns during his senior season...on defense, Phil accounted for 84 tackles...intercepted a record 16 passes and returned two for touchdowns...blocked two PAT attempts and two punts...returned one of the blocked punts for a touchdown...statistics from his sophomore and junior seasons were not available...Phil played in the 29th annual Santa Clara County all-star game at the Silicon Valley Youth Classic on July 23, 2003...he caught 11 passes for 205 yards and one touchdown in a losing cause for the North squad, which lost 27-25....played for Coach Jeff Remington at Henry Gunn High School...current Henry Gunn Coach Sam Picture said, “Phil is an exceptional athlete.
