OSU—(2002—Freshman Redshirt)—Nate remains a walk-on in the program...he reported to spring drills listed No. 3 at strong linebacker...he will return to fall camp in the same spot on the depth chart...his best opportunity for playing time would be on special teams in 2002...during winter conditioning, Nate posted weightlifting bests of 365 in the back squat, 265 in the bench press, 254 in the power clean and 232 in the push press...his best vertical jump mark was 24.5 inches.
(2001—Freshman)—Reported to OSU as a walk-on freshman for the start of fall camp on August 8 and spent the season as a redshirt linebacker playing on the defensive scout squad.
CRESCENT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL, Corvallis, OR—Nate earned three letters in football and two in basketball at Crescent Valley...played football for Coach Mike Fagan and basketball for Coach Bruce Reid...he earned first-team All-Valley League honors in football as a running back and second-team honors as a linebacker following his senior season...his two best efforts as a prep running back were against Corvallis High School (215 yards) and West Albany High School (195 yards).
