PERSONAL--Born 7/5/81 in Detroit, MI...son of David and Ann Hill...his father is self-employed and his mother is a homemaker...has three younger brothers and sisters, Adam, 13; Austin, 7; and Dana, 5...plans to major in liberal arts with a career in mass communications...his father, David Hill, played football at Texas A&I and professionally for the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams of the NFL from 1971-1988...an uncle, Jim Hill, played football at Texas A&I and the Green Bay Packers and San Diego Chargers of the NFL....Barry Sanders, Reggie White and Randy Moss are his favorite athletes...several of his former prep teammates are playing in the Pac-10 Conference--Kareem Clark, Arizona State; Brian Forth, Arizona State; Nate Fikse, UCLA and Nate Steinbacher, USC...enjoys dancing, singing and music...selected OSU because, "Beautiful campus, great academic support and great coaching staff."
OSU—(2001—Sophomore)—Aaron earned a letter by playing in three games during the 2000 season as a redshirt freshman…he started spring drills as the No. 2 flanker on the depth chart and was later switched to split end during the spring…in the three scrimmages, Hill made some impressive plays…he caught one pass in the first scrimmage, but it was good for a 51-yard touchdown from Ryan Kanekeberg…in the second scrimmage, he caught 2 passes for 68 yards, including a 59-yarder…in the spring game, Aaron caught one pass for 16 yards on the winning black squad…he will report to fall camp as the No. 3 split end…in the winter program, Aaron posted weightlifting bests of 300 in the squat, 230 in the bench press and 242.5 in the power clean.
OSU-(2000-Redshirt Freshman)--Aaron red-shirted during the 1999 season and report to spring drills listed No. 3 at flanker...at the conclusion of spring drills, Aaron was still listed at No. 3 at flanker, playing behind T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Seth Trimmer, a pair of letter winners...in OSU’s four major scrimmages during the spring, Aaron failed to catch a pass...it will be very difficult for him to break into the playing rotation in 2000...during winter conditioning, Aaron posted weightlifting bests of 295 in the back squat, 225 in the bench press and 236 in the power clean.
OSU-(1999)--Joined the OSU program in the fall as a wide receiver.
ESPERANZA HIGH SCHOOL Anaheim, CA--Aaron was a three-year letterman and two-year starter at wide receiver for Coach Gary Meek and the Esperanza High School Aztecs in Anaheim, CA...he was time at 4.54 for the combine in the 40-yard dash...listed #112 on SuperPrep Magazine’s list of top players in the Far West and...selected to PrepStar Magazine’s All-Western Region team...son of David Hill, who played for the Los Angeles Rams (1983-88)...he also has two uncles who played over 13 years in the NFL, including wide receiver Jim Hill...he was recruited by ASU, OSU, San Jose State, UNLV, Colorado, Fresno State and Nevada and committed to OSU over ASU and San Diego State...Aaron caught 138 passes for 2,286 yards (16.6 average) and 19 touchdowns as a wide receiver in four years...also had 2 running touchdowns on a flanker reverse for 17 touchdowns all told and 114 points...longest run was 63 yards from scrimmage and 76 yards as a receiver...as a senior, caught 49 passes for 809 yards (16.5 average) and 6 touchdowns...as junior, caught 46 passes for 791 yards (17.2 average) and 6 touchdowns...as sophomore, caught 24 passes for 413 yards (17.2 average) and 4 touchdowns...as freshman, caught 19 passes for 273 yards (14.4 average) and 3 touchdowns...named second-team All-CIF Division I as junior and first-team as senior...also played defense as free safety during senior year...named first-team all-league (Sunset) as junior and senior...turned 17 years old in July (7/5/81)...participated in track and field as a junior for the first time and won league championship in 110 meter high hurdles at 14.9 and was a CIF semifinalist...this year he will run the 330 intermediate as well as high hurdles... "He is going to be a great player at the next level," says coach Meek. "He turned 17 years old in December. It is the difference between night and day as to his size and physical appearance to where he is now compared to when he came in as a freshman. He was a skinny, slow, gangly kid as a freshman, and now he is an impressive 6-3, 180-pounder. I think he will be a 6-4, 210-pound wide receiver for OSU. We have the best weight program in Southern California for high school kids and he has increased his lifting two-fold in just one year. He is benching nearly 300 pounds right now. With his background (dad and two uncles playing professional football), I think Dennis Erickson is getting an athlete who will be an outstanding contributor in the Pac-10 and make people very proud of him."
