PERSONAL--Born 4/22/80 in Upland, CA...son of Steve and Barbara Christensen...his father repairs office machines and his mother is a lab technician...he has an older sister, Julie, 20...UESP...Tony Boselli is his favorite athlete...three of his prep teammates are playing Division I-A football, Damian Allen at UCLA, Dominic Daste at Washington and Dominic Spadoro at Army...his top athletic thrill to date was making his first tackle on defense... selected OSU because, "I want to beat UCLA, Washington, Stanford, USC, Washington State, Arizona State, Arizona, California and Oregon."
OSU--(1999-Redshirt Freshman)--Mark entered spring drills as the No. 2 offensive right guard and he maintained that position on the depth chart throughout the spring...he will report to fall camp as the No. 2 right guard behind veteran Aaron Koch...in the weight room, Mark has produced personal bests of 245 pounds in the hang clean, 353 in the bench press, 400 in the back squat and 305 in the incline...his best vertical jump mark is 24.00 inches.
(1998-Freshman)--Mark spent the 1998 season as a redshirt and played right guard on the scout team throughout the season.
DAMIEN HIGH SCHOOL, LaVerne, CA (1995-97)--Mark was selected as a preseason prep All-American by Prep Star Magazine...he was also named prep All-American by PrepStar Magazine in its January issue...named the 10th best offensive lineman in the Western region by PrepStar...Mark was a three-year starter for the Damien High School Spartans under coach Dick Larson...Mark also earned one letter as a shot putter in track and field...as a senior, Mark won several honors...he was a first-team all-league (Baseline 3A) pick; a first-team All-Inland Valley selection; a first-team All-San Gabriel Valley selection; a first-team Los Angeles Times all-area choice; and a first-team All-CIF Southern Section pick...he was a second-team all-league pick as a junior...committed to OSU midway through the 1997 football season...also recruited by UCLA, USC, Washington, ASU and Nebraska...runs 5.1 in the 40, which is very good for his size..."Mark is an outstanding two-way tackle who can play with the best of them," according to SuperPrep...as a junior, he bench pressed 365 pounds, registered over 500 pounds in the squats and he cleaned 315 pounds...good student with 3.0 GPA...Damien had a 9-2 record his sophomore year, 7-3 his junior season and 7-4 his senior year...coach Larson said, "Mark has an excellent attitude. He has very good goals in athletics and academics. He is an extremely hard worker. He plays hard and is a fierce competitor. He is very strong and immediately heads to the weight room after football season. He loves to lift."
