Marcie Green enters her first season as the Oregon State softball pitching coach.
Shespent the past nine years as an assistant at Fresno State, a program that has appeared in the national rankings for 29 consecutive seasons and has never had a losing season. She helped her alma mater to NCAA Tournament appearances in each of her nine seasons there, including four WAC conference championships and two conference tournament titles.
"I'm extremely excited and honored that she chose to come to Oregon State," Berg said. "She brings years of experience as a coach and I'm really looking forward to working with her."
Green wrapped up her Bulldog career listed among the school's career top ten in virtually every pitching category. The two-time All-Big West honoree guided Fresno State to three Big West Conference titles en route to four NCAA Regional appearances and three Women's College World Series showings. Named All-WCWS as a freshman when the Bulldogs finished as the national runner-up in 1990, she also helped Fresno State to third place finishes at the 1991 and '92 WCWS.
Prior to returning to coach at Fresno State, she served three years as an assistant coach at the College of Sequoias. Green assisted on two conference title teams and was part of the staff selected as the 2003 National Fastpitch Coaches Association/California Junior College Coaching Staff of the Year.
