The newest facility in the Athletics family is the spacious nearly 20,000 square feet P. Wayne Valley Sports Performance Center, located immediately next to the Tommy Prothro Football Complex.
The $16 million dollar facility opened May 1, 2008 to rave reviews from the entire roster of student-athletes on campus. There is over $500,000 in new equipment in the facility and a 60-yard four-lane sprint track to build speed.
The P. Wayne Valley Sports Performance Center has a state-of-the-art video and sound system, including individual portals at its conditioning stations. The SPC also includes a practice area for the wrestling team, immediately above the weight room.
“The P. Wayne Valley Sports Performance Center at Oregon State University, is one of the bigger weight rooms in the country," said Evan Simon, Head Football Strength & Conditioning Coach. "It gives us the space to carry out first class training programs for our athletes and handle our business on a daily basis to reach our athletes training goals.”
