U.S. Open Tee Times Released: Sherwood Starting At 9:27 AM Thursday

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The groupings and starting times for the first two rounds of the 112th U.S. Open Championship were released on Thursday and Oregon State junior Nick Sherwood will tee off at 9:27 a.m. on Thursday, June 14 and 2:42 p.m. on Friday, June 15.
Sherwood, who qualified for the U.S. Open by defeating Oregon's Daniel Miernicki in a sudden-death playoff this past Tuesday, will be paired with professionals Mark McCormick from Middletown, N.J. and Cole Howard from Fort Worth, Texas in the first two rounds.
The cut will take place after the first 36 holes of the tournament. All golfers in the top 60, including ties, and anyone within 10 strokes of the lead will make the cut and play the final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday.
McCormick, a 49-year-old head professional at Suburban Golf Club in Union, N.J., earned a trip to the 2012 U.S. Open by shooting 4-under over 36 holes to grab one of four qualifying spots at the Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, N.J.
Howard shot 73-70--143 at the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md., to secure his spot in the U.S. Open. He began his professional golf career following his graduation from North Texas in 2008. He has played on the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series and the NGA Hooters Tours, claiming the 2011 Beaumont Open title, the only victory of his professional career.
The U.S. Open will be held at The Olympic Club Lake Course, a par-70, 7,170-yard layout, in San Francisco, Calif. Established on May 6, 1860, The Olympic Club enjoys the distinction of being America's oldest athletic club. The Lake Course challenges professionals and amateurs alike with its narrow, tree-lined fairways and small, well-bunkered greens.
