Ryan Dunn Taken In 17th Round Of MLB Draft By Tampa Bay

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State senior infielder Ryan Dunn has been taken in the 17th round (542nd overall) in the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday.
It is Dunn's first career selection.
He batted .286 for the Beavers in 2012, finishing with 19 doubles, seven home runs and 36 runs batted in. He concluded his Oregon State career with 113 games played and batted .283 with 27 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs and 62 RBI.
Dunn is the second Beaver to be taken, joining Matt Boyd, who was selected in the 13th round on Tuesday by Cincinnati.
Additionally, two Oregon State signees have been selected thus far. Taken in the third round by Philadelphia (125th overall) was infielder Zach Green from Jesuit High School in the Sacramento area. Left-handed pitcher Mason Felt (Hebron Christian Academy in Georgia) was taken in the fifth round (172nd overall) by Cincinnati.
Dunn is the first Oregon State player to ever be selected by Tampa Bay in the MLB Draft.
