Last Game
Ryan Dunn drove in the Beavers’ lone run in Oregon State’s 7-1 loss to No. 3 LSU Saturday night at Alex Box Stadium. Dan Child took the loss for Oregon State after allowing five runs in 5 1/3 innings.
Elimination Game
Sunday’s game against Louisiana-Monroe is classified as an elimination game and Sunday’s winner will advance to play LSU later in the day. Pat Casey is 11-4 in elimination games while serving as the Beavers’ head coach. OSU famously won three straight at the 2007 Charlottesville Regional to advance to the Super Regional - all were elimination games.
Sundays
The Beavers went 7-3 in Pac-12 series during the regular season and a big reason for that was OSU’s success on Sundays. Oregon State is 12-2 in Sunday games this season, including a 6-1 record in games played away from Goss Stadium.
Back To A Neutral Site
The Beavers’ game Sunday against Louisiana-Monroe is deemed a neutral site contest. The Beavers are 6-1 in neutral-site games, winning their last four, including a 2-1 win over Belmont on Friday to open the regional.
Against The Sun Belt
OSU barely has a history against the Sun Belt Conference, of which Louisiana-Monroe is a member. The Beavers have only played Western Kentucky from the league, winning a neutral-site game, 6-2, in 2002.
He Will Take Them
Sunday’s starter, Ben Wetzler, is 5-1 in games played away from Goss Stadium this season despite posting a 4.72 earned run average in 45 2/3 innings. He is, meanwhile, 2-1 with a 2.09 in home games this season.
Singles
• OSU needs one win to reach 40 on the year for the second consecutive season. The Beavers won 41 in 2011.
• The Beavers are batting .309 in neutral-site games while the team’s staff has an ERA of 3.48 in 62 innings.
• OSU has a 30-10 record in day games.
