Baseball Concludes Season Ranked In All Five Polls

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State baseball team is ranked in all five major polls to conclude the 2012 season.
Perfect Game USA was the final poll to be released on Thursday and the Beavers find themselves at No. 23. Oregon State is ranked the highest at No. 22 by both the National Collegiate Basball Writers Association (NCBWA) and the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll. Baseball America has the Beavers ranked 24th while Collegiate Baseball places OSU at No. 25.
It marks the second consecutive season OSU finished in the top 25 of at least one major poll and the sixth time in the last eight years.
The Beavers finished the 2012 season with a 40-20 record, winning at least 40 games for the fifth time in school history; all five have come in the last eight seasons. Oregon State also went 18-12 in Pac-12 Conference play to finish in a tie for fourth. The 18 league victories are the second-most since the league unified in 1999 and the .600 winning percentage is fourth-best.
Oregon State was ranked in at least one poll every week of the season and the Beavers found themselves as high as No. 16 by Perfect Game Feb. 20, the NCBWA on March 19 and Baseball America on May 28.
The Beavers went 10-10 against teams ranked in the Baseball America top 25 and 5-5 against those in the top 10. OSU also finished the regular season 10-6 against teams that advanced to an NCAA Regional.
