Oregon State to Travel to Michigan in 2015 Football Season

CORVALLIS, Ore. -
The Oregon State University football team will travel to the University of Michigan to play during the 2015 season, Beaver Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis announced Wednesday.
The game will be played at Michigan Stadium, the largest college football venue (109,901 capacity) in the nation Sept. 19, 2015. It will signify OSU’s fifth meeting with the Wolverines. Three of the previous games have been played in Ann Arbor, including the most recent Sept. 20, 1986. OSU and Michigan also met in the 1964 Rose Bowl.
There are several noteworthy connections to both programs. De Carolis was an athletic administrator for the Wolverines from 1979-98, including a four-year stint as the school’s head softball coach. Michigan head football coach Brady Hoke was on the OSU staff as an assistant from 1989-94 with former Beaver head coaches Dave Kragthorpe and Jerry Pettibone.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our student-athletes, staff and fans to visit not only one of the great venues in college football but all of sports,” De Carolis said. “But make no mistake, we will make this trip with the goal of winning a football game.”
OSU has one non-conference game to be scheduled for the 2015 season; it begins the year with a home date against Weber State Sept. 5, 2015.
The Beavers open the 2012 season Sept. 1 vs. Nicholls State at Reser Stadium, before Big Ten Conference foe Wisconsin visits Sept. 8. The season opener will mark the first time OSU will appear on the Pac-12 Networks (to learn more about the Networks and availability follow this link).
