Women's Soccer Set For Eight Television Matches On Pac-12 Networks

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's soccer team will be featured eight times on the inaugural Pac-12 Networks as announced by the conference office on Monday. The Beavers, looking to make a fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament, will open their season on Friday, Aug. 17 at home against UAB.
"Having the Pac-12 Networks is a great opportunity is to showcase OSU and our student-athletes to family, friends and fans," Oregon State head coach Linus Rhode said. "Our 2012 schedule is going to be exciting. We have a lot of good matches in our preseason schedule that should be great for our team."
The 2012 schedule includes 20 matches, including nine at the newly-renovated Paul Lorenz Field at Patrick Wayne Stadium, and the first televised game will be Sept. 14 when the Beavers host Gonzaga in the first match between the two schools since 2007.

Oct. 19 - Arizona State (3:30 p.m.)
Nov. 2 - at Oregon (4 p.m.)
In addition to UAB, Oregon State will play non-conference games against Portland, Portland State, Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly. The Beavers will also face Gonzaga and Seattle University in the Oregon State Nike Invitational.
It will be the Beavers' first meeting with Cal State Fullerton since 1998 and first with Cal Poly since 1997. Oregon State and Portland have played 25 times previously, while the Beavers and Portland State have met 14 times in history.
Pac-12 play begins on Friday, Sept. 21 when the Beavers host Utah and ends on Friday, Nov. 2 against Oregon in the Civil War Series presented by the Northwest Ford Dealers and PacificSource Health Plans in Eugene. The match against the defending national champion Stanford Cardinal will take place on Thursday, Sept. 27 in Stanford.
Oregon State advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year last season before losing in the opening round in a heartbreaking match to Portland in a penalty shootout. The Beavers finished the season 13-5-3, including a 7-3-1 Pac-12 mark, and were ranked in the Top 25 of the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women's poll in all but one week.
Rhode and assistant coaches Michelle Voiland and Eric Pohl have built a dynasty as the Beavers have won 43 games the past three seasons, by far their most ever in a three-year span. Oregon State had advanced to the NCAA Tournament just once in the 21 years before their current streak of three consecutive trips.
The Pac-12 Networks announced its women's soccer schedule on Monday, which features 58 live televised contests and are just a portion of 217 live events including football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's water polo, field hockey and cross country telecast over 100 days this fall.
The Pac-12 Networks launch August 15 and will consist of one national and six regional networks devoted solely to the Pac-12. In addition to the hundreds of live televised Pac-12 sporting events, Pac-12 Networks subscribers will have access to their carrier's TV Everywhere platform, providing access to all Pac-12 Networks programming on any device through their broadband service.
