June 15, 2012
Corvallis, Ore. -
Beavers Without Borders, in partnership with Holt International (local children's services organization), will depart for Ethiopia this weekend. It's the fourth trip that OSU student-athletes have taken abroad since the BWOB program began in 2011; also visiting Guatemala twice and Macedonia.
This year the BWOB team will assist in the construction of living quarters for two families. The team includes Holt International (children's services organization) representatives, volunteers and the following student-athletes: Josh Andrews (football), Chloe Steinbeck (track), Seshia Telles (golf), Clark Fisher (rowing), Margo Clinton (swimming), Gillian Cooper (rowing), Brian Watkins (football), Julie Sattler (soccer), Emily Richardson (softball), Martie Massey (volleyball), Stephanie McGregor (gymnastics), Lauren Fischer (golf) and Jonnie Motomochi (golf).
All members of the trip raise funds for their own travel. The team will also be delivering shoes that have been donated to the local townspeople as well as play in several soccer matches with local youth.
You can follow the trip through McGregor as she is writing a blog at NCAA.com starting late this weekend or early next week.
