Emergency Action Plan for Prothro Practice Fields
Venue Directions:
The Prothro practice fields are located on Ralph Miller Drive between SW 26th Street and SW 30th Street. The Prothro fields are located directly between The Sports Performance Center and the Truax Indoor Center. To access the Prothro Practice Field proceed west on Ralph Miller drive from SW 26th street. The main entrance to the Prothro Practice Fields is at the south end of the field complex. A member of the emergency response team will meet EMS at the entrance of the Prothro Practice Fields and direct them to the scene.
Emergency Personnel:
- Certified athletic trainer(s) and athletic training student(s) on site for all practices.
Emergency Communication:
- Cell phone carried by certified athletic trainer.
- Fixed telephone line located in VFC Athletic Training Room office, (541) 737-3578.
Emergency Equipment:
- AED, supplemental oxygen, first aid supplies and splints located at the south end of the field complex, between fields.
Role of First Responders:
- Establish scene safety and immediate care of the athlete.
- Emergency equipment retrieval, as needed.
- Activate Emergency Medical System (EMS).
- Direct EMS to the scene. An athletic training student or other team personnel will meet EMS at the appropriate entrance and direct them to the scene.
