Beavs Look To Go Low In High Elevation Of Colorado At NCAA Regionals

CORVALLIS, Ore. - As head coach Risë Alexander said earlier this week, the Oregon State women's golf team will start their season new when they compete at the NCAA West Regionals this Thursday through Saturday in the high altitude of Erie, Colo., with a trip to the NCAA Championships on the line.
The Beavers are making their first trip to the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals in six years and need to finish in the top eight of the 24-team field to advance to just the second NCAA Championship in school history. Alexander said it best: "We are going to start new right now and make this a one-tournament season with the hopes to turn it into a two-tournament season."
The Beavers are the No. 18 seed in the West Regional and the three-day, 54-hole event will be played at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo., which is located just 20 minutes north of Denver and was rated the best course in Colorado in 2010.
WHEN: Thursday-Saturday, May 10-12, 2012 6:30 a.m. PT (morning wave) and 11 a.m. PT (afternoon wave) off Nos. 1 & 10 tees.
COURSE: Colorado National Golf Course, Par-72, 6,575 yards
FORMAT: 54 holes of college stroke play format. The top eight teams and two individuals advance to the NCAA Championships May 22-25 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
FIELD: 126 players; 24 teams of five players and six individuals
