John Rizzardini (Rizz-r-dean-E) joined the Oregon State University administrative staff in March of 2012 as senior associate athletic director for external operations. At OSU his primary area of focus is on the external constituents that include: fan experience, ticket sales, website, social media, Beaver Sports Properties, licensing, advertising and media relationships.
Rizzardini spent eight years with the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders and Qwest (now CenturyLink) Field, the last four years as chief operating officer. He served as senior vice president with the Minnesota Wild and the Vancouver Canucks, and has been the executive vice president for the Los Angeles Kings and Los Angeles Galaxy, and the vice president of the Golden State Warriors.
He has led sales and marketing teams in the growth of ticket sales, renewal of brands and energizing the game experience for fans. Rizzardini was part of a leadership team that launched the successful Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer and opened new arenas in Los Angeles (Staples Center) and Vancouver, B.C. (GM Place).
Rizzardini holds a bachelor's degree in physical education from Cornell College in Iowa and a master's degree in sports management from Western Illinois University.
