Track and Field Wraps up Linfield Twilight

MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Oregon State track and field team sent seven athletes to compete at the Linfield Twilight tonight, coming away with one first place finish to continue the team’s consistent performances leading up to the conference championship next week.
Whitney Pitman came away with her first win of the season in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. She finished first overall with a time of 11:26.80, with Hannah Soza-Hodgkinson finishing in second place overall with a time of 11:41.16.
The Beavers had four athletes competing in the 1,500 meters, with Raelyn Robinson leading the way with her highest finish of the year. Robinson placed third overall with a season best time of 4:54.23.
Sabrah de Voir finished right behind Robinson in fourth place and a time of 4:54.47. Latane Cox and Shannon Mahoney rounded out the Beavers in the 1,500 meters in fifth and sixth place with times of 4:55.14 and 5:00.55, respectively.
Justine Bird was the lone Oregon State high jumper at the Linfield Twilight, finishing in second place overall. She notched a height of 5-0.100, which is her season best jump and only her fourth time competing as an Oregon State track athlete.
The Oregon State track and field team will return to action when another group of athletes will compete at the Oregon Twilight, hosted by the University of Oregon. Live results for the meet can be found at www.goducks.com under their track and field section.
