Child, Dunn, Rodriguez Added To All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention List

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State sophomore pitcher, Dan Child, senior infielder Ryan Dunn and sophomore catcher/infielder Jake Rodriguez have been named to the All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention team, it was announced Thursday.
They were added a day after the all-league team was announced after it was realized incorrect balloting occurred. The Beavers now have four honorable mention selections as Jace Fry was also named on Wednesday. Michael Conforto and Tyler Smith are first teamers; Conforto is also Freshman of the Year.
Child finished the regular season with a 6-3 record, 2.75 earned run average and one save in 16 games - 15 of which were starts. He struck out 78 in 1011/3 innings as opponents batted .271 against him.
Dunn was second on the Beavers with seven home runs and tied with Smith for No. 2 on the club with 34 runs batted in. He finished in a tie for first in the Pac-12 with 19 doubles. He hit .299 in 56 games.
Rodriguez played both second base and catcher for OSU, batting .290 with eight doubles, two home runs and 28 RBI in 51 games. Behind the plate, Rodriguez was nothing short of stellar, throwing out 27 for the 41 steal attempts against him, a percentage of .658, easily in the best in the Pac-12.
The Beavers open the Baton Rouge Regional Friday against Belmont. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT (noon in Oregon). The game can be seen live on Comcast SportsNet Northwest (channel 37 on Comcast).
