OSU Staffer Alicia English Selected for NCAA Conference

Corvallis, Ore. - Alicia English, OSU Athletics' ticket and donor account manager, has been selected as one of 50 ethnic minority females to participate in the NCAA Leadership Institute workshop. The five-day event begins July 28 at the University of North Carolina.
The workshop will allow participants to diversify their network, become exposed to key stakeholders within college administration and receive an in-depth view of the opportunities to serve within the NCAA governance structure as they advance in their careers.
"I'm very excited and fortunate to be selected," English said. "My goal is to continue to further my career in intercollegiate athletics and this is a big step in doing that."
English has been on the OSU staff since January of 2011 with her responsibilities including the coordinator and ticket account manager for season ticket sales in premium donor levels at Reser Stadium, ticket manager for several postseason tournaments and customer service.
Previous to her arrival at OSU, she served as a ticket operations assistant at Western Illinois University and as an intern for the Peoria Chiefs and Huntsville Stars baseball teams.
English was awarded the 2009-10 Outstanding African-American Graduate Student at Western Illinois, the 2008 Outstanding Leadership Award at Alabama A&M University, is a 2008 inductee into the Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society and past president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Alabama A&M.
The Peoria, Ill., native is a 2008 graduate of Alabama A&M with a bachelor's degree in marketing, where she also was a three-year volleyball letterwinner for the Southwest Athletic Conference champions, and a 2011 graduate of Western Illinois with a master's in sport management.
