Linda Hurd was promoted to Associate Athletic Director and the Beaver Athletic Student Fund (BASF) Director in March 2011 after serving as Assistant Athletic Director since 2004. The BASF is the fundraising arm of Oregon State University Athletics and generates the finances necessary to pay for educating all of the school's student-athletes in 17 intercollegiate sports. Since 1999, under Hurd's leadership, the annual fund has grown by more than 100 percent.
Hurd was a key figure in "Raising Reser - Expanding Beaver Nation," then the largest single capital fundraising component in the University's history. The campaign expanded Reser Stadium, OSU's football venue, by nearly 12,000 seats over a three-year period. Hurd is currently involved in capital campaigns for the Student Success Center, the basketball practice facility and the Whyte Track and Field Center. She also was instrumental in the expansion of Goss Stadium at Coleman Field and the construction of the Merritt Truax Indoor Center.
Hurd came to OSU in 1999 after spending 11 years at the University of Oregon. At Oregon she was key figure in fundraising for the annual fund, The Ed Moshofsky Indoor Practice Facility and the Casanova Center.
Hurd is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
Hurd resides in Junction City.
