The Beavers are second in the league in strikeouts looking as 78 of the 261 (30 percent) have come via called strikes. Seven of OSU’s nine Tuesday against Oregon were of that variety.
At USC
The Beavers have been snakebitten at Dedeaux Field, USC’s home park, in recent memory. Oregon State is 3-6 at USC in its last three trips, last winning a series in 2004, 2-1. OSU is 8-23 all-time at Dedeaux Field, with head coach Pat Casey taking six of those victories.

Starts Of A Quality Nature
Oregon State has received great starting putching as of late, with the Beavers recording six quality starts in the team’s last eight games. Oregon State has received 19 quality starts (at least six innings, three earned runs or less) this season and the Beavers are 15-4 when that happens. OSU is 1-6 when an opponent gets a quality start from a starter.
Streaks
Both Michael Conforto (10 games) and Ryan Gorton (nine games) extended their hitting streaks on Tuesday. Conforto became the first Beaver with two in double figures this season, while Gorton’s is a career long.
Singles

• Head coach Pat Casey is eight wins shy of tying Jack Riley (1973-94) for most in an OSU uniform.
