Day 12 -- Jordan Poyer Talks Spring Ball

April 23, 2012
ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper, Jr., has already lauded the prospects of Jordan Poyer at the next level and ranks the Astoria native as the second-best senior cornerback in college football.
OSU head coach Mike Riley figures to not only use Poyer as his lockdown corner, but also as a returner and possibly inserted into the team’s ultra effective “wildcat” formation. Poyer enters the year with six career interceptions, 20 pass breakups and 102 career tackles. If he can duplicate last season he would have an excellent opportunity to be the Beavers’ highest selected cornerback in modern history in the NFL Draft (Keenan Lewis 96th pick of Pittsburgh in 2009).
The OSU video team had a chance to catch up with Poyer after practice Monday as the team entered the final week of spring practice.
