Beavs In Seventh, Chianello Tied For 12th After 36 Holes At Aggie Invite

BRYAN, Texas - Junior Nick Chianello shot an even-par 72 in the afternoon round to lead the Oregon State men's golf team to seventh place after 36 holes of play on Saturday at the sixth annual Aggie Invitational in Bryan, Texas.
Chianello had four birdies and four bogeys in the second 18 holes after posting a 7-over 79 in the morning round at the par-72, 7,146-yard Traditions Club and sits in a tie for 12th place heading into Sunday's final round of the two-day, 54-hole tournament.
As a team, the Beavers knocked 17 strokes off their morning round after the lunch break to move up from ninth place to seventh in the 10-team field with a 59-over 398-381--779 and trail Baylor, which sits in sixth place, by only two strokes with 18 holes to play.

Senior Jonnie Motomochi continued his steady play with a10-over 79-75--154 for a tie for 22nd place and sophomore David Fink made his return to the Beavers' lineup a success as he sits in a tie for 35th with a 13-over 81-76--157.
Three other Oregon State golfers are competing in the 6-count-5 format led by senior All-American Alex Moore, who is tied for 47th with a 16-over 78-82--160, while junior Nick Sherwood finished the day with a 19-over 87-76--163 for a tie 57th and junior Matt Rawitzer is tied for 60th with a 20-over 81-83--164.
Play was suspended due to darkness with Texas Tech and Utah still on the course. Those two teams will finish their second round beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT (5:30 a.m. PT) on Sunday and the final round will begin at 8 a.m. local time.
