Tony Bryant Named To Midseason Stopper Of The Year Watch List

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State junior Tony Bryant has been named to the midseason Stopper of the Year Award watch list, which was announced Thursday by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
Bryant is one of 45 closers on the watch list, which includes four from the Pac-12 Conference.
Bryant, a native of Kennewick, Wash., is tied for second in the Pac-12 this season with eight saves. He also sports a 3-1 record and 3.20 earned run average in 16 appearances. He has accumulated 26 strikeouts with just five walks in 19 2/3 innings. Opponents are batting .208 against him.
He was also named to the midseason watch list last season and ended the 2011 campaign with 12 saves and a Pac-12 first team selection.
Oregon State turns its sights to No. 11 UCLA, which visits Goss Stadium for a three-game series starting Friday. Tickets remain for the series and can be purchased online at osubeavers.com, over the phone by calling 1-800-GOBEAVS or visiting the ticket office at Gill Coliseum. Fans may also purchase tickets on gameday at the Goss Stadium ticket office, which opens two hours before first pitch.
Saturday's game will be broadcast on KEZI 9.2 (channel 309 digitally or 9.2 over the air) and ROOT Sports Northwest with a 1:05 p.m. PT start. Fans who live in the Eugene/Corvallis region can find the game on KEZI 9.2 - fans elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest can find the game on ROOT Sports.
