Last Game
Dylan Davis’ groundout in the seventh proved to be the game-winner as the Oregon State baseball team opened a three-game series with a 5-3 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Friday night. Davis capped off the Beavers’ two-run inning to overcome the Golden Lions’ one-run lead entering the bottom half of the inning. Ryan Dunn drove in the first run on a double to left center, scoring Michael Conforto, who had walked to open the inning. Davis grounded out to third with one out for the game-winning RBI.
Smith Goes Further
Tyler Smith pushed his hit streak to 14 games - tying him for the longest since 2010 - when he reached on a bunt in the eighth inning Friday. Smith is 23-for-49 (.469) with seven walks during the hit streak.
Bryant On A Saves Streak, Too
Tony Bryant has posted saves in each of the last three games for the Beavers. During that stretch, he has worked 3 2/3 innings with just one hit allowed and six strikeouts. He has 20 saves for his career, placing him five shy of tying Kevin Rhoderick for second-most at Oregon State.
Night Games
The Beavers have played just nine night games this season, going 4-5 overall. Of those eight, the Beavers have played five at Goss Stadium, going 4-2. Ben Wetzler has pitched in five of the Beavers’ nine night games this season.
Ryan Gorton With Big Game
Ryan Gorton went 2-for-2 on Friday, giving him three multiple-hit games on the season. The catcher/pitcher/designated hitter enters Saturday having reached on five consecutive at bats as he also walked three times in the 5-3 win.
Setting Some New Highs, Good & Bad
Oregon State walked 12 times in Friday’s game, tying a season-high for the most in a game this season. The Beavers also left 14 runners on base, setting another season-high.

• Pat Casey needs one win for 600 in his career at Oregon State. He’ll become the 15th head coach in Pac-12 Conference history to reach that plateau.
• Casey has averaged roughly 34 victories during his 17 1/2 seasons at Oregon State.
