Volunteers Needed For Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships

April 13, 2012
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State is hosting the 2012 Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships Friday through Sunday, April 27-29, at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis and volunteers are needed to help stage the event.
Volunteer positions include walking scorers, golf ball spotters, leader boards and parking lot shuttle. People interested in volunteering should contact Oregon State men's golf assistant coach Tim Sundseth at tim.sundseth@oregonstate.edu or by phone at 541-207-6321.
The available times on Friday, April 27 will be from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. when 36 holes are played, while the times on Saturday, April 28 will be from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, April 29 will be from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The walking scorers will walk the round and input the score for all three golfers into a handheld device after each hole to automatically update the live scoring. The golf ball spotters will be stationed on the course and help locate shots hit into the rough. Those working the leader boards will be stationed at one of three on the course and update them during the round. The parking lot shuttle volunteers will help transport spectators from the parking area on the southwest side of the course to the clubhouse.
This will be the inaugural Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships and include all 12 teams in the conference, including three teams ranked in the top-10 in the most recent golfstat.com rankings -- No. 4 California, No. 5 USC and No. 6 UCLA. Patrick Cantlay of UCLA, who won low amateur at last week's Masters, will be among a strong group of individuals in the tournament.
