PERSONAL—Born 8/12/80 in Berkeley, CA...son of Tom and Debi White...he has one brother, Mathew, 24...he is in the College of Business and he is a business administration major...he entered OSU with a 3.4 GPA...soccer and volleyball are his hobbies...winning North Coast championship in volleyball for the second year in a row was his top athletic thrill as a prep...selected OSU, “for football and the school of business.”
OSU—(2002—Junior)—Mike, a walk-on, has been in the OSU program for three years and has been a backup place kicker and punter during that time and has not played in a collegiate game to date...during spring drills, he played behind Ryan Cesca and Kirk Yliniemi, plus freshman baseball pitcher John Dailey...Mike has proven in practice he has the ability to kick and is insurance in the kicking department for OSU...during winter conditioning, Mike had a shoulder injury and did not participate in weightlifting.
(2001—Sophomore)—Mike spent the 2001 season as the No. 3 place kicker on the squad and he did not participate in a game...Mike showed he had the ability to be a successful kicker during his first two years at OSU…in the final Spring Game, Mike booted a 22-yard field goal to help the Black squad to a 17-0 victory…in the winter program, Mike posted lifting bests of 200 pounds in the bench press, 237 in the power clean and 295 in the squat.
(2000—Redshirt Freshman)—Mike entered spring drills as a redshirt walk-on kicker, battling Cesca for the job...in OSU’s first scrimmage, Mike booted a 31-yard field goal in his only attempt...he also booted a 28-yard field goal for the Black squad in the final Spring Game in his only other field goal attempt of the spring.
(1999—Freshman)Mike joined the OSU program as a walk-on place kicker at the start of fall quarter in September and spent the season as a redshirt.
CAMPOLINDO HIGH SCHOOL, Moraga, CA—(1996-99)—Mike earned letters in three sports at Campolindo...he lettered in soccer, volleyball and football...earned three letters in soccer and volleyball and two in football as a place kicker and punter...he was a two-year all-league (Tri-County) pick in soccer, a two-year all-league selection in volleyball and an all-league pick as a senior in football...he served as team captain of the soccer and volleyball teams.
