Beavers In Fifth At Pac-12 Preview With Play Suspended

NORTH PLAINS, Ore. - The Oregon State men's golf team is currently in fifth place with play being suspended due to darkness during the second round of the inaugural Pac-12 Preview at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club on Monday.
There were 26 of the 60 players on the course when play was suspended during a long day at the Witch Hollow Course that was suppose to include 36 holes of play for the 12 conference teams. The players will finish the second round with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday and the final round will begin at 8:32 a.m. off the first, ninth and 13th holes.
The Beavers shot a 5-over 293 in the morning and were on a much better pace in the afternoon at 7 under at the par-72, 7,017-yard layout to put them just two strokes behind UCLA and one ahead of Oregon. California was able to finish both rounds and sits in first place with an 18-under 558, while USC and Washington are tied for second.

Freshman Tyler Carlson, who is making his collegiate debut this week, and senior Nick Sherwood were able to finish on Monday, while senior Nick Chianello and junior David Fink have one hole to finish and redshirt freshman Brian Jung has two.
"First thing we need to do is have our last three guys finish what they started," Oregon State head coach Jon Reehoorn said. "We played very well this morning until the end. We just need to finish. After that, we need to get out there and get off to a good start again like we did this morning."
Sherwood fired two subpar rounds to finish the day with a 3-under 71-70--141 and Carlson wrapped up the first 36 holes of his college career with a 7-over 75-76--151. Chianello and Fink are both 4-under par in their second round with one hole to play after shooting a 1-under 71 and 8-over 80, respectively, in the morning round.
