Heidi Slaymaker, 31, is in her fifth season as an assistant coach at Oregon State. Her responsibilities include a large role in the Beavers' recruiting, helping plan and run practices, assisting in overseeing players' academic progress, and some travel planning.
Slaymaker was previously an assistant coach at Davidson College. Prior to working at Davidson, Slaymaker was a volunteer assistant at the University of British Columbia. She has also worked as an instructor and coach at a number of soccer camps in both the United States and Canada.
Slaymaker earned a bachelor's degree in Natural Resources Conservation from UBC in 1996. While at UBC, she was named the Canada West Conference's Most Valuable Player.
Slaymaker was on Canada's women's national team for four years. She also was on teams that won British Columbia Premier League titles and a premier national title; she was the premier league national championship MVP in 1998. In 1999, Slaymaker was a co-captain of the W1 League's Charlotte Speed.
