Josh Osich Selected In Sixth Round By San Francisco

June 7, 2011
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State left-handed starter Josh Osich has been the third Beaver chosen in the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft, going in the sixth round (207th overall) by the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.
It is the second such selection for Osich, who was taken in the seventh round in the 2010 draft by the Los Angels of Anahem.
Osich has posted a 6-4 record with a 3.64 earned run average this season, including the program's fourth-ever no-hitter - and first complete-game effort since 1947 - against UCLA on April 30.
Osich is the second Oregon State player to be selected by the Giants today and is the ninth Oregon State player to be taken by San Francisco in the draft since it began in 1968.
