June 7, 2011
Walnut Creek, Calif. – Sophomore Taylor Hunt (Tigard, Ore.), junior Marsha Lampi (Portland, Ore.), redshirt senior Hayley Oveson (La Grande, Ore.) and senior Krista Stangel (Enterprise, Ore.) led the Oregon State women’s track team’s 18 total selections on Pac-10 All-Academic Teams, announced Tuesday by Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott.
The four earned first team nods, the most by a single school on the top team, with Stangel and Lampi both tallying their second individual honor. Oveson earned her second academic honor, earning second team accolades last season.
Sophomores Lauren Graebner (Eugene, Ore.) and Taylor Nowlin (West Linn, Ore.) both were named to the second team for their first academic accolade.
And seniors Jennifer Macias (Hermiston, Ore.) and Abby Chesimet (Astoria, Ore.), juniors Natosha Buruse (Ridgefield, Wash.), Laura Carlyle (Kelowna, British Columbia) and Laurel Parks (Grants Pass, Ore.), sophomores Kristin Oenning (Sherwood, Ore.), Whitney Pitman (Eugene, Ore.) and Olivia Poblacion (Portland, Ore.) and redshirt freshmen Audrey Botti (Beaverton, Ore.), Ariel Clark (Portland, Ore.), Erin Jones (Hood River, Ore.) and Hilary Sharpe (Bend, Ore.) rounded out the selections on the honorable mention squad.
Macias and Chesimet earned their third honor each, while Carlyle, Parks, Pitman and Poblacion both chalked up their second.
