Men's Golf Scramble To Include Auction With Great Prizes

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State men's golf team will host the 37th Annual Oregon State Golf Scramble on Monday, June 27 at the Tualatin Country Club and include several great prizes, including a trip to the 2012 Masters, as part of an auction to benefit the program.
The featured item is a trip to the 2012 Masters from April 6-8, which includes eight badges to Saturday and Sunday's rounds, luxury ground transportation, a private estate home, full breakfast and dinner provided daily by private chefs and evening entertainment.
The trip is valued at $51,000 but bidding will begin at $25,000. Pre-bids will be accepted by emailing Oregon State head coach Jon Reehoorn at jon.reehoorn@oregonstate.edu or by phone at 541-207-5371 and continue until the start of the auction on June 27. If a high bid has been submitted during the pre-bidding and no one is able to match it during the live auction, that person will win the trip to the Masters.
Additional auction items include a trip for two to Hawaii to travel with the team when they compete in a tournament from Jan. 28 to Feb. 4, 2012, a trip for two to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, a trip for four to the PGA West at the Palm Desert Resort with the men's golf team from Oct. 7-11, 2012, a trip for two to Maui, Hawaii, which includes airfare, condominium and rental car and an Oregon coast golf getaway to stay at the Gearhart By The Sea Resort.
There will also be two club level seats to any 2011 Oregon State football game and autographed Beaver helmet, a Nike golf fitting with irons, wedge and driver, a McKennon leather golf bag valued at $1,000 and the ultimate Beaver golf equipment pack with clothes, rain attire, golf bag and team shoes.
The golf scramble is open to individuals and teams with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $250 per person, which benefits the Oregon State University men's golf program, and includes green fees, golf cart, range balls, tee prize, lunch, dinner and team and individual prizes. Those interested in attending the dinner and live auction only can do so for $35 t the door.
Money raised from the tournament provides the men's golf team with the resources necessary to compete at the highest level in the nation's most competitive conference. It provides a variety of opportunities such as bringing the team in early September for fall camp, providing team building retreats in the fall and winter, build a national tournament schedule to compete against the nation's best, attract the top student-athletes to Oregon State and assists with golf clubs, video equipment and enhanced practice facilities.
