17 Beavers To Play Summer Baseball

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Seventeen Oregon State baseball players from the 2011 season will play summer league baseball in leagues across the nation, including four for the Corvallis Knights of the West Coast League.
The Knights will see four Beaver pitchers through the summer – Adam Duke, Scott Schultz, Ben Wetzler and Tom Zarosinski – while Cole Baylis and Ryan Barnes will appear for the Wenatchee AppleSox of the same league.
Four Beavers will play in the Cape Cod League, long considered the most historic and prestigious summer league. Jake Rodriguez and Andrew Susac will play for the Falmouth Commodores while Danny Hayes has been assigned to the Brewster Whitecaps and Matt Boyd will play for the Orleans Firebirds.
Six more Beavers will head to the Northwoods League, with Luke Acosta and Garrett Nash scheduled to be teammates with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. They will see Tony Bryant (Madison Mallards), Brian Stamps (Wilmar Stingers), Dan Child (La Crosse Loggers) and Tyler Smith (La Crosse Loggers).
Freshman Kavin Keyes is the lone Oregon State player to head north to the Alaskan Summer League where he will play for the Anchorage Pilots.
