Last Game
Four different players tallied at least two hits as the third-ranked Oregon State baseball team finished with 14 Sunday, but the Beavers dropped a 5-2 decision to 24th-ranked UCLA at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Jared Norris and Ryan Barnes each tallied three hits for Oregon State, which, despite Sunday’s loss, took the series after winning 7-5 Friday and 2-0 Saturday on Josh Osich’s no-hitter. Kavin Keyes and Danny Hayes both had two hits for OSU as well. Eight different players finished with at least one in the loss.
Osich Is Pac-10 Pitcher Of The Week
Not surprisingly, Josh Osich’s no-hit effort Saturday landed him the honor as the Pac-10’s Pitcher of the Week. It is his first career honor and the team’s third of the season after Sam Gaviglio took home the first two.
Beavers Win Another Pac-10 Series, Pt. 2
Oregon State comes home to play the Ducks after winning their fifth consecutive Pac-10 series, a first for the program since the league unified in 1999. OSU has now won four consecutive series played at UCLA.
Home Sweet Home
The Beavers come into Tuesday night’s game with a 16-3 mark at Goss Stadium, and with eight games to play. Five in those last eight would match last season’s win total of 21. OSU has won 20 or more at home in a single-season four times.
Some Non-Conference Info
The Beavers have been stellar in games played outside of the Pac-10 this season. OSU has a mark of 20-6 in non-conference games. The Beavers are 11-2 at home in non-conference matchups.
Norris Likes Seeing Oregon
Jared Norris has been an offensive sparkplug against the Ducks during his three years at OSU. He is 9-for-26 (.346) with five runs, seven RBI, five walks, a double and a home run career against Oregon.
