Senior Day, TV Highlight No. 2 Baseball's Weekend

May 19, 2011
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The second-ranked Oregon State baseball team welcomes USC to Goss Stadium this weekend, with the first pitch Friday night slated for 5:35 p.m. PT. The Beavers lead the Pacific-10 Conference by two games and will be aiming to win 20 games at home for the fifth time in school history.
They currently sit at 19.
Prior to Sunday's game, which is a 12:05 p.m. start, the Beavers will honor their 2011 senior class with a special ceremony. The senior class consists of catcher Parker Berberet, pitchers James Nygren and Dylan Jones and outfielders Michael Miller and Jared Norris. The Beavers will also honor redshirt junior Josh Osich, who is a true senior academically and is on pace to graduate this spring.
After the ceremony, and before the game, the ceremonial first pitch will be performed by former Beaver Jonah Nickerson. The right-hander went 26-9 from 2004-06, helping Oregon State to a national title in 2006.
For those fans who are attending Sunday's game, make sure to get there a little bit before the start of the game to help the 2011 senior class on Senior Day and to see one of the best right-handers in school history step on the mound at Goss Stadium once again.
Saturday's game is a 2:03 p.m. start and marks the final of four home games broadcast live on ROOT SPORTS in the Pacific Northwest and KEZI 9.2 (channel 309 in Corvallis, Albany and Eugene markets).
