May 18, 2011
Corvallis. Ore. - The Oregon State women's swim team signs one more for the 2011-12 season in Corvallis native Lauren Allen as announced by head coach Larry Liebowitz Wednesday. Allen competes in the 100, 200 and 500-yard freestyle events. Allen will be graduating from Crescent Valley High School this spring.
Allen will bring depth to the team in her events. Her best time in the 100 freestyle is 53.14. She has a time of 1:53.66 in the 200 freestyle and a time of 5:12.73 in the 500 freestyle. She placed first at the 2011 5A Swimming State Championships in both the 200 and 100 freestyle events.
"This is our fifth person and is one of our best recruiting classes ever," Liebowitz said. "I'm pretty excited for next year. We have four women coming on board whose best times are well into our top ten and top five. That is going to make a big effect on our team."
