Ten Swimmers Earn Academic Honors

Corvallis, Ore. - Sophomore Amy Herbst earned 2011 Pacific-10 Conference Women's Swimming All-Academic First Team honors with a GPA of 3.78. The list was announced Tuesday by Commissioner Larry Scott.
Herbst is majoring in exercise and sports science. She got a season and career best time during the Pac-10 championships in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 17:57.23. She also got a career best time in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.12.
Seniors Ellie Bradley, Keri Holmstrom, and sophomores Arianna Gorenc, Rachel O'Brien, and Amanda Rose were named to the Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team honors. Sophomore Carrie Kelsey and seniors Ashley Kerekanich, Rachel Polack, and Rachael Wahl also earned honorable mention.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
