Oregon State Chosen to Host 2013 NCAA Gymnastics Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -
The NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Committee announced today the regional and championship sites for the 2012 and 2013 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships.
“The Women’s Gymnastics Committee was impressed with the number of quality bids submitted to host the 2012 and 2013 regional and national championships,” said Paul Plinske, chair of the Women’s Gymnastics committee. “We selected sites that will create an outstanding environment for our gymnasts and their fans. Women’s gymnastics is an exciting sport and we look forward to bringing these talented student-athletes to various cities around the country.”
Oregon State is among the six host sites for the 2013 regional championships along with Oklahoma, Florida, Ohio State, West Virginia and Alabama. The regional competition will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013. Teams and all-around competitors advancing out of the regional championships will compete at the 2013 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships, April 19-21, at UCLA.
Regional sites selected for the 2012 season are Auburn, Illinois, Arkansas, North Carolina State, Utah and Washington with the national championships taking place at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga. and hosted by Georgia Tech.
The 2011 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships are set and will take place next month at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio, April 15-17. Kent State and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission are hosting.
The Beavers are set to host the 2011 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Corvallis Regional this Saturday, April 2, at 4 p.m. The No. 3 Beavers will be joined by No. 10 Nebraska and No. 15 Iowa as well as Southern Utah, San Jose State and Michigan State.
