Women's Golf To Compete At MountainView Collegiate

March 24, 2011
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's golf team travels to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the 13th Annual MountainView Collegiate on Friday and Saturday.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72, 6,221-yard MountainView Golf Club and is hosted by the University of Colorado and Colorado State University.
The 18-team tournament will consist of 36 holes on Friday and the final 18 holes on Saturday with five players competing for each team and the fop four individual scores counting after each round.
"This is a good field with 18 teams and we are in an important situation as far as our score and finish are concerned," Oregon State head coach Risë Alexander said. "If we want the opportunity to have postseason consideration, we need to have a solid performance this week and next."
The Beavers will go with junior Whitney French, sophomores Rachael Fischer and Chelsey Lind and freshmen Seshia Telles and Lauren Sewell.
"It's up to them to take care of their game," Alexander said. "They have the tools and they have to put them to good use. I believe in this group and the bottom line is that they have to believe in themselves and trust their decisions. We have improved steadily with our scores this spring, but now it's time to beat some teams."
There will be shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. both days and live scoring throughout the tournament will be available at www.golfstat.com.
