Moore Fires 4-Under 68 In Final Round At Amer Ari Invitational

KONA, Hawaii - Junior Alex Moore fired a 4-under 68 in the final round at the 20-team Amer Ari Invitational, the best round by an Oregon State golfer at the three-day, 54-hole tournament, to lead the Beavers to a 13th place finish in their first event of the spring season.
The Beavers improved six strokes from their second round finish to finish at 2-under 284-292-286--862 at the par-72, 7,074-yard Waikoloa Kings Course. The tournament featured six schools ranked in Golfweek's final Top 25 poll of the fall season.
Moore had six birdies and two bogies during his final round to finish tied for 22nd overall at 4-under 71-73-68--212. Freshman David Fink had the most consistent tournament of any Oregon State golfer with three consecutive rounds of even-par 72 to finish tied for 41st overall. Sophomore Nick Sherwood shot a 2-over 72-74-72--218 to finish tied for 59th, while junior Jonnie Motomochi finished tied for 65th with a 3-over 69-74-76--219.
No. 4 Oklahoma State won the team title with a 34-under 278-273-279--830 to defeat No. 7 Texas by five strokes (29-under 282-278-275--835) and No. 2 UCLA by six strokes (28-under 285-273-278--836).
The Beavers return to action Feb. 13-15 at the Battle of the Beach at Newport Beach, Calif.
