Men's Golf Concludes Second Round At Amer Ari Invitational

KONA, Hawaii - The Oregon State men's golf team is tied for 13th place after the second round of competition at the 20-team Amer Ari Invitational being held Wednesday through Friday.
The Beavers sit at even-par 284-292--576 through two rounds after shooting a 4-over 292 in the second round at the par-72, 7,074-yard Waikoloa Kings Course, which features six schools ranked in the Top 25, including four of the top six, based on the November 24, 2010 Golfweek poll, the final poll of the fall season.
Freshman David Fink led Oregon State in the second round with an even-par 72 that included four birdies. Junior Alex Moore and sophomore Jeff Petroff finished the day at 1-over 73, while junior Jonnie Motomochi and sophomore Nick Sherwood shot a 2-over 74.
Motomochi leads the Beavers through the first two rounds, and is tied for 38th overall, at 1-under 143; Moore and Fink are both tied for 44th overall at even-par 144.
Oklahoma State leads the tournament at 25-under 278-273--551 over UCLA (18-under 285-273--558) and Texas Tech (17-under 284-275--559).
The three-day, 54-hole tournament concludes Friday at 9:30 a.m. PT and live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com.
