FRANKLIN: Brandon lettered four years in football, basketball and track...played football for head coach Armando Gonzalez...played receiver and linebacker and was named the Northern League Offensive Player of the Year his senior year after making 70 receptions for 1,350 yards and 20 touchdowns...two-time all-league on offense and defense...Los Angeles Times and Los Angeles Daily all-area team member...first team all-city as a junior and senior at wide receiver...as a junior he caught 58 passes for 850 yards and 11 touchdowns...as a senior he made 11 receptions for 222 yards and four touchdowns vs. Marshall and seven receptions for 220 yards and three touchdowns vs. Lincoln...on defense he accumulated 129 tackles, 16 sacks and three interceptions over his final two seasons...Franklin was 17-5 during his two prep seasons.
PERSONAL: Born in Glendale, California...son of Michael Powers and Ellen Kennedy...his father is deceased and Ellen is a yoga instructor...has four sisters, Kelly, Deborah, Shannon and Bridget...enjoys reading, drawing and collecting cards...Jerry Rice is his favorite athlete...entered OSU with a 3.3 cumulative GPA and was enrolled in Franklin High School's magnet program for top-level math students...selected OSU because, "it was close to my original home state, the Pac-10 and I like the environment at OSU"...business administration major.
