2004: Harvey took reps in spring ball at free safety as returning starter Mitch Meeuwsen was sidelined with an injury...a key player on defense who will be on the field this season...known as a hard hitter.
2003: Harvey played in 12 of the 13 games, including the Las Vegas Bowl...the only contest he missed was at USC due to a concussion suffered at Oregon in the previous game...made 25 tackles for the season, including a career-high seven vs. Arizona...also had five vs. Washington and four vs. Arizona State.
2002: Harvey redshirted after arriving on the OSU campus for fall camp...due to the program's depth in the secondary at the time of his arrival the then coaching staff decided to redshirt him.
COMPTON: In one season Harvey made 76 tackles, broke up nine passes, caused four fumbles, and has six interceptions (1 TD)...JC Grid-Wire honorable mention All-American...first team All-Western States Conference and second all-state...also participated in track as a sprinter.
DOMINGUEZ: Harvey was a two-year starter while playing for head coach Keith Donerson...PrepStar Magazine All-American and listed 11th on its defensive backs list for the West Coast...first team All-San Gabriel League as a senior and second team as a junior...as a senior he made 77 tackles, including 21 sacks...team captain as a senior and named the squad's player of the year on defense...also was a two-year letterman as a sprinter.
PERSONAL: Son of Harvey Whiten, Sr., and Verita Brown...Harvey Sr. is a truck drive and Verita is a nurse...has three brothers, Kevin, Jermaine, and Darwin, and two sisters, Shanika and Tasha...chose OSU because of the "opportunity to obtain the best education and be able to compete at the highest level"...majoring in sociology.
